Based on 85,000 counselling sessions across India Inc., the 2023 report shows a workforce proactively seeking tools for self-management and growth. Self-development dominated (40%), followed by mental health (18%), relationships (14%), work (13%) and marriage (11%). Women accounted for 55% of usage, and the highest utilisation came from the 20–29 age band, an early-career cohort juggling change, uncertainty and transition.
Pre-counselling screenings indicated that 85% of individuals exhibited symptoms of depression and anxiety prior to seeking help, another sign that employees often arrive with significant distress already present.
A concerning trend: critical-risk cases (varying degrees of suicidal risk) comprised 19% of sessions, a 4-point rise over the previous year, concentrated in the 20-29 age group, underlining the urgency of age-appropriate outreach, early triage and rapid referral pathways.
