National, [Feb 6th, 2026] – Godrej Properties has launched Godrej SAHYOG, a mental health and wellbeing initiative for construction workers, in partnership with 1to1help. The programme has been designed to make mental health support accessible, relevant, and sustained within the realities of site-based work.
Godrej SAHYOG was shaped through a 6-month pilot across multiple project locations. It is now being implemented across 79 construction sites nationwide, with the potential to reach close to 30,000 workers in key markets including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Gujarat, and Chhattisgarh.
The programme responds to the specific pressures of construction work, including long hours, language diversity, and the hesitation many workers experience when seeking emotional support.
Components include:
Rather than relying on one-time interventions, Godrej SAHYOG integrates care into everyday site life. The approach prioritises repeated presence, familiarity, and trust building, allowing conversations around mental health to develop gradually and organically over time.
The need for initiatives like SAHYOG becomes clearer when viewed in the context of India’s expanding infrastructure and real estate landscape, where construction workers form the backbone of everyday progress.
Despite the physical and emotional demands of their work, mental wellbeing support for this workforce has historically remained limited or inaccessible. Embedding structured mental health care within construction sites signals a shift in how organisations view responsibility, moving from compliance-driven safety measures to a more holistic understanding of worker wellbeing.
Emphasising this broader responsibility, Pirojsha Godrej, Executive Chairperson, Godrej Properties, shared,
“India’s growth is being shaped every day by millions who build our cities and infrastructure. Caring for the wellbeing of those who build the nation is not just a business responsibility; it is a societal imperative.”
By translating this intent into a scalable, on-ground solution, Godrej SAHYOG offers a realistic model for the industry, demonstrating how mental wellbeing can be meaningfully integrated into high-intensity, site-based work environments.
Coverage by Economic Times HRWorld notes that the initiative is focused on normalising conversations around mental health at construction sites while ensuring timely access to professional support.
Reporting by Devdiscourse further highlights the scale of the rollout and its focus on reaching construction workers directly at their place of work. The programme has also been featured by BW People, reflecting growing attention on mental wellbeing initiatives for frontline and blue-collar workforces.
Through this partnership, Godrej Properties and 1to1help are embedding mental wellbeing into daily safety and wellbeing practices on site, reinforcing the belief that emotional health is integral to dignity, productivity, and long-term sustainability in high-intensity work environments.
